Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour Package

Destination Covered : Mumbai - Aurangabad - Ellora - Ajanta - Bhusaval - Bhopal - Sanchi - Agra - Delhi - Patna - Rajgir - Bodhgaya - Varanasi - Kushinagar - Lumbini - Sravasti - Lucknow - Delhi

Day 01 - Arrival Mumbai - Aurangabad
Upon arrival at Mumbai international airport, meet our representative and start sightseeing of Mumbai, first visit Gateway of India, Wales Museum, Parliament House, Marine Drive, Jain Temple and Hanging Garden. Later get transferred to Mumbai Domestic Airport and depart for Aurangabad. Get transferred from Aurangabad Airport to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02 - Aurangabad - Ellora - Ajanta - Bhusaval - Bhopal
After breakfast drive for a sight-seeing tour of Ellora, one of the most visited World heritage sites of India. Here you will see around 34 monasteries and temples with some elite sequence of monuments that date back from 600 to 1000 AD. Ellora temples are dedicated to Brahmanism, Buddhism and Jainism. It also has some of the excellent stonework depicting the legends related to Lord Shiva.
After that go for famous Ajanta caves sightseeing. Ajanta falls among one of the few historical and architectural marvels of India. Recognized as the World Heritage Site today, it was discovered during the 19th century by a group of British officers who were on a tiger hunt.
Later in the evening get transferred to Bhusaval Railway Station to board overnight train for Bhopal Overnight on Board.

Day 03 - Bhopal - Sanchi - Bhopal - Agra
After breakfast go for sightseeing of Sanchi visit Sanchi Stupa - It is unique, not only in terms of perfectness, but also for offering the visitor a chance to see, all in one place, the genesis, flowering, and decay of Buddhist art and architecture during a period of about 1500 years -- almost covering wide range of Indian Buddhism.
After completing sightseeing, return to Bhopal and get transferred to Railway Station to connect train for Agra. On arrival transfer from Agra Cantt Railway Station to Hotel and enjoy overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04 - Agra
Early morning visit the incomparable symbol of love i.e. Taj Mahal with its’ speculative view. Taj Mahal, the architectural one of the seven wonders of the world; this monument is a fine example of the fusion of many architectural. Taj is among one of the loveliest buildings in the world. The tour continues with a visit to the Agra Fort from where one can enjoy the moving view of the Taj from the little octagonal tower in the Agra Fort, which lies, across the river Jamuna. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 05 - Agra - Delhi - Patna (AIR)
After breakfast drive to Delhi. On arrival start sightseeing tour of New Delhi starting with India Gate, President House. Later get transferred to Domestic Airport to board flight for Patna. On arrival Patna Airport transfer to Hotel for Overnight stay.

Day 06 - Patna - Rajgir - Bodhgaya
After early breakfast, drive to Bodhgaya en-route visit Rajgir, capital of 6th century Magadha Empire. Here Buddha spent many years and it was revered site where he gives sermons. Then visit Gridhrakula, Ajatsatru fort, Sapataparni cave and Venuvana. Then we will visit Nalanda - the world's oldest university founded in the 5th century. Also visit monasteries and temples with striking Buddhist & Hindu images. Then visit archaeological museum with the rare collections. Proceed for Bodhgaya, on arrival check into the hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 07 - Bodhgaya - Varanasi
Bodhgaya is one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage centres where Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment and became Buddha under the "Bodhi" tree. Morning visit the Stupa and the various monasteries, Mahabodhi temple built by Ashoka the Great in 3rd Century BC. One can also visit the holy Bodhi tree.
Later Proceed for Varanasi. On arrival check into Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 08 - Varanasi - Kushinagar
Early morning take boat ride on river Ganges to see the beautiful sunrise at Ganges. After breakfast excursion to Sarnath, the principle centre of Buddhism. It was here around 530 B.C that Buddha preached his 1st sermon after gaining enlightenment.
Afternoon drive to Kushinagar - the place where Buddha passed into Parinirvana. On arrival check into Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 09 - Kushinagar - Lumbini - Sravasti
After breakfast, be ready for sightseeing of Kushinagar. Visit Ramabha stupa which stands on the spot where the body of the Lord was cremated. Also visit Natha Kumarka Kot enshrining the large recumbent figure of Buddha in the state of Nirvana. After that proceed for Sravasti, en-route visit Lumbini the place where Buddha was born. An ancient shrine with an image representing the nativity of Buddha is still preserved. Continue your drive to Sravasti. On arrival check into Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 10 - Sravasti - Lucknow - Delhi - Departure
Morning visit Sravasti (Sahet-Mahet), capital of the ancient Kingdom of Kosala, an active centre for Buddhism. After sightseeing proceed to Lucknow. On arrival Lucknow get transferred to airport to board flight for Delhi.
Transfer from Delhi Domestic Airport to International Airport to connect flight back home.
